• People do fasting for 9 days & some of them consume only fruits & milk
• Doing long meditation sessions for Durga Ma
• Do Bhajans & Jagratra while keeping themselves awake for the whole night.
• Wearing 9 different colored clothes on these 9 days to respect Maa Durga's nine forms.
• Putting fresh flowers every day on the idol of Maa Durga.
• Lightening of Akhand Diya of oil or ghee diya in front of Goddess Durga
• During Navratri devotees decorate their houses with marigold flowers.
• Eating only vegetarian food without onion and garlic.
• Avoid wearing black colored clothes.
